Vol. 24 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CORK COUNTY COUNCIL SECRETARY'S SALARY.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state (a) whether a resolution of the Cork County Council was passed in or about December, 1926, dealing with an inclusive salary for the Secretary of the Council; (b) whether the agreement covered by the resolution has been sanctioned by him; (c) if not, when it is likely to be sanctioned; and (d) what is the cause of the delay.

A resolution was passed as stated. It is understood that the inclusive salary referred to operates as from the 1st April, 1927. An agreement is in course of preparation which has, I understand, presented some drafting difficulties. The County Council have been asked to complete the matter without avoidable delay.

How is it that an agreement is operative which has not been sanctioned by the Department?

The Deputy will have to put down another question.
