Vol. 27 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EXPORT OF EGGS.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that there are many complaints from exporters of eggs from the Free State to Scotland via Derry, to the effect that the breakages are excessive and give evidence of extremely careless handling en route, as a result of which the exporters are losing customers in Glasgow and elsewhere, and whether the Minister will have inquiries made with a view to having this state of affairs remedied, if possible.

Mr. HOGAN

The Department have not received in the present year from exporters of eggs from the Free State any complaints of the nature referred to. If particulars of specific instances of breakages on the route in question are supplied to the Department full inquiries will be made into the matter.
