WRITTEN ANSWERS. - RECONSTRUCTION OF LEIX SCHOOL.
A grant of two-thirds of the expenditure as certified by the Commissioners of Public Works has been sanctioned by the Department of Education in aid of the cost of enlarging and improving this school. The school being non-vested does not qualify for State aid for building and improvement works and the grant has been sanctioned conditionally on the vesting of the school premises in local trustees. The necessary lease is being prepared and as soon as it has been signed by the several parties payment of the grant will be made by the Board of Works.
