Vol. 30 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Wexford Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state when it is proposed to vest the tenanted lands on the estate of H.T. A.S. Boyse, Co. Wexford, in the tenants, also if the Minister is aware that several tenants on this estate have had large portions of their lands swept away by the sea, and if it is intended to give relief by way of reduction of rent to the tenants so affected prior to or at the time of vesting, and, if not, if he will state the reasons why.

The owner has lodged the prescribed particulars to enable the lands comprised in this estate to be vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day under the Land Act, 1923, but the estate has not yet been reached in its order of priority to be dealt with by the Land Commission.

Having regard to the number of other estates in priority to this estate, the Commissioners are unable at present to say when this estate may be reached.

When reached, it will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible, and the question of erosion will be duly considered.
