Vol. 33 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dingle Pension Application.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if his attention has been drawn to a resolution passed on 11th February, 1930, by the Dingle Old Age Pension Sub-Committee pointing out that in the opinion of the Committee the application on the part of John Shea, Glensworth, Dingle, has not received just and proper consideration, and will the Minister now give an assurance that he will send an inspector to investigate this particular application.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I was not satisfied that the value of the claimant's maintenance was less than £39 5s. a year, the statutory limit for the receipt of a pension, and disallowed the claim on 8th July, 1929. No further appeal has since been received. I have now no power to intervene in the case.
