Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lattin Lands, Co. Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will furnish the following particulars with reference to the Lattin Lands, Co. Tipperary:—

(a) the exact acreage owned by Mr. Nicholas J. Greene in that area;

(b) the name or names of the person or body to whom rent (or annuity) is paid for each portion of the townlands of Lattin East and Ballinagleragh, the name of the owner of each such portion as furnished to the Land Commission, the nature of the tenure and the acreage in each case;

(c) the Report of the proceedings at the hearing, before the Judicial Commissioner, of the objection which Mr. Nicholas J. Greene made to the acquisition of the 390 acres which were gazetted;

(d) the probable date of the acquisition by the Land Commission of this estate.

(a) Mr. Nicholas J. Greene holds 543a. Or. 29p. in the vicinity of Lattin as a tenant to Captain Charles Moore, who has returned him under the Land Act, 1923, as the tenant of the following lands:—

(b) Payment in lieu of rent in respect of these lands is being paid to the owner, Captain Charles Moore.

(c) Proceedings before the Judicial Commissioner are judicial, of course, and reports of them are not circulated.

(d) The Land Commission are not in a position to state the probable date of the acquisition of the lands, but the matter is being expedited as much as possible.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that it was stated in this House five years ago that the matter of the acquisition of this particular estate was being expedited?

I am not aware of it; in any event I did not state it five years ago.
