Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deductions from Guarantee Fund.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the amount deducted from the Guarantee Fund in respect of unpaid instalments of Land Purchase Annuities, at the time the Land Commission was taken over by the State, in respect of the 1891 and subsequent Land Purchase Acts; (b) the sum total of Land Purchase Annuities in respect of the Land Acts, 1891 to 1909 collected up to and including the 31st of January, 1932, since the taking over of the Land Commission; (c) the total amount outstanding of unpaid instalments of Land Commission Annuities due to the Land Commission, on the date when the Land Commission was taken over by the State; in respect of the Land Acts, 1891 to 1909; (d) the sum reimbursed to the Guarantee Fund, in respect of the collection of the unpaid instalments referred to as outstanding on the 31st January, 1923, up to the 21st January, 1932; (e) whether any reimbursement of the Guarantee Fund has been made, excluding instalments due or payable on the first gale day 1932, the second gale day 1932, and on the first gale day 1933; (f) what statutory authority there is for reimbursing the Guarantee Fund for deductions made, or what provision is made in the Land Bill for making good to the Guarantee Fund any deductions from that fund; (g) whether, if no such provision is made, the Government propose to take any steps, and, if so, what steps, to give back to the local authorities moneys deducted from them by reason of the draw on the Guarantee Fund, and what is the date on which the Government propose to make such refund.

As there has not been sufficient time to prepare a comprehensive reply since the receipt of this question in my Department, it is proposed to send the Deputy the information he requires in due course.
