Vol. 59 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Claims of Resigned R.I.C.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) when the Commission was set up for the purpose of investigating claims received from men who resigned or were dismissed from the Royal Irish Constabulary in pre-truce times; (2) when the report of the Commission was received by him, and (3) when he expects to notify those concerned of the result of their applications.

The Committee of Inquiry into Resignations and Dismissals from the R.I.C. was set up in January, 1934, and presented its report to me in March, 1935. The examination of the Committee's report will shortly be completed, and applicants will be notified of the decisions in their cases at an early date.
