Vol. 63 No. 10

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Accommodation in Limerick.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the serious congestion that exists in the infants' schools at St. Mary's Convent School, Limerick, owing to the increased population in the district due to the erection of almost 400 houses by the Limerick Corporation for slum clearance, and if he will state when sanction will be given by his Department to the proposals to provide additional accommodation.

I am aware of the necessity for the enlargement of this school. My Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of carrying out the enlargement; tenders have been obtained, and the manager has been authorised to accept the lowest suitable tender and to proceed with the work.
