Vol. 87 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Howth Water and Sewerage Facilities.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received a proposal from the Howth Urban Council for the provision of water and sewerage facilities at Kilrock Road, Howth; and whether, in view of the employment which would be provided by the execution of the scheme, he will indicate whether he is prepared to sanction the scheme.

No specific proposals have been received from the Howth Urban District Council for water and sewerage facilities at Kilrock Road, and I am not aware that the council intend to proceed with the water and sewerage facilities pending the making of final arrangements for the reconditioning of the road. Estimates for works, including certain water and sewerage services in connection with the taking over of the road by the council from the Commissioners of Public Works, have been received and the financial aspects of the proposals are at present under examination by my Department and the Commissioners of Public Works.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary give some indication as to when that examination will be concluded?
