Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Offaly and Leix Bogs.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is proposed to acquire for division the bog on the Bolton estate, Kylenaglinny, in the parish of Lusmagh, Banagher, County Offaly, as some local farmers have to travel miles for turf while this bog is in the immediate neighbourhood; and if he cannot see his way to acquire it on account of the emergency restrictions on the work of the Commission whether he will deal with the question by an Emergency Powers Order.

The Land Commission are unable to identify the bog in question from the particulars furnished.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission propose to acquire for division the Reary and Clonduff Bogs, in the parish of Rosenallis, County Leix, for division amongst deserving applicants for turbary.

The Land Commission are unable to identify the bogs in question from the particulars furnished. They have no proceedings pending for the acquisition of turbary in Clonduff townland. There is no townland of Reary according to the General Townland Index.
