asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that soldiers who applied for their discharge have been refused the 21 days pre-discharge leave and have also been refused the civilian suit to which they are entitled or cash allowance in lieu thereof; and, if so, he will make inquiries into the matter with a view to having the position rectified.

I am not aware of any cases in which soldiers have not received pre-discharge leave or civilian clothing to which they are entitled under existing Defence Force Regulations. In view, however, of the Deputy's query, I am having the matter fully investigated.
