asked the Minister for Education if he will state if he is taking any steps to introduce one standard form of Irish in our schools; and what progress, if any, is made in that respect.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish in the Schools.
While no special steps are being taken to introduce a standard form of Irish in the schools, the development of such a form is being cultivated through the provision of language text-books based on correct usage in literature and the spoken language, through examinations and a standardised system of spelling and in other ways. Satisfactory progress is being achieved in this respect.
