Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Positions Held by Former Members of Oireachtas.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the names of former members of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann who were appointed by methods other than competitive examination to positions remunerated out of State funds from 1934 to date; the position to which each such person was appointed and the remuneration attaching thereto.

The information is in the form of a tabular statement, and will be published in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

Statement (so far as the records available show) of the names of former members of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann who have been appointed since 1st January, 1934, to positions remunerated out of State funds, by methods other than competitive examination.

The return relates to persons elected or nominated to membership of the Oireachtas subsequent to the General Election, 9th June, 1922. It does not include the names of persons who were reinstated in the Civil Service.
