Vol. 98 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of County Dublin Road.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the road leading to holdings at Nevinstown, Swords, occupied by Messrs. McGuirk, O'Brien, Sheridan and McGlynn is in a bad condition at the moment, and is a source of great hardship to school-going children and people attending church services, and, further, if he is aware that threshing mill owners, grocers, etc., have refused to serve these people on account of the bad condition of the road and in view of this, if he will have the road put into a proper condition.

I would refer the Deputy to my communication of the 9th instant to him and to the replies given on 3rd February, 1943, and 19th September, 1944, to his previous questions about this road. The Land Commission cannot undertake the maintenance of such roads. That is not their function.
