asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in the event of the deficiency in the wheat supply not being made good before this year's harvest, restrictions on the consumption of bread and flour will be imposed; if so, if he will state what restrictions are likely; and if he will make a statement on the general position in the matter.

The general position in regard to wheat does not call for any special statement. Unless there is a material deterioration in our supplies, which I have no reason to anticipate, it will not be necessary to impose further compulsory restrictions on the consumption of bread and flour before this year's harvest.
