Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wireless Licences.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state how many new wireless licences were issued since the date on which wireless owners were warned that special methods of detection would be employed for the purpose of discovering defaulters; and, further, if he will state how many licences are now in force compared with November, 1947.

Over 47,500 new wireless licences have been taken out since the beginning of the campaign against defaulters. There are now over 255,000 current licences as compared with 185,576 current on the 31st October, 1947.
