Vol. 113 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bray Gardai.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the feeling in the mind of the public that the Garda Síochána in Bray, County Wicklow, are seeking to secure convictions rather than assist in the vindication of justice; and whether, in the circumstances, he will inquire into the work of the force there so as to ensure that their general behaviour is directed towards assisting the public; that their duties are performed equitably and without discrimination, and, in particular, that they do not unnecessarily intrude into premises where social functions are in progress.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
