Vol. 123 No. 8

- Industries for Kerry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the urgent necessity for the establishment of industries in the towns of Killorglin, Cahirciveen, and in Kenmare, and whether he will make the necessary representations to the Industrial Development Authority in the matter.

The Industrial Development Authority is already aware of the need to establish industries in the smaller towns, including those mentioned by the Deputy, and will be glad to give every encouragement and assistance to efforts designed to attract new industrial projects to such areas.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that, in the case of one firm, certain preliminaries have been concluded, and that there is now the question of his Department granting a residence permit? I should be glad to know if he will expedite the matter.

That seems to be an individual case. If the Deputy will give me particulars, I shall have it examined.

It is an urgent case for the people I have referred to. They intend to provide most of the capital required and to provide the equipment, but they are being held up over a technicality.

As I have said, if the Deputy will give me particulars I shall have them examined. This seems to be an individual case.
