Vol. 124 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cottoner River Bridge.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the need for a small bridge over the Cottoner river, the construction of which would facilitate the residents of Gortloughra and Glencutane, County Kerry; and, if so, whether he will allocate a grant for the purpose.

I assume that the site of the proposed bridge is at a point where the Cottoner river flows across a county road. If this is so, the question of providing a bridge appears to be one for consideration by the county council.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that this is not the location described in the reply? This is an accommodation road, not a county road.

The council is responsible for the maintenance of the road where the river flows across it.

If that is not the case we shall discuss the matter.
