The maximum price which my Department at present pays for land for planting is £8 per acre. The price actually paid for any particular area depends on its suitability for forestry purposes. The average price per acre paid for land, including unplantable land, during the period 1st April, 1951, to 30th October, 1951, was approximately £4 per acre.
