Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rates of Wages in Dublin and Principal Towns.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district at the beginning of 1952 (base January, 1939=100) in respect of (a) industrial group, (b) services, (c) transport, and (d) all groups.

The index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district at the rates in operation on 1st January, 1952 were (to base January, 1939=100) (a) industrial: 191.5; (b) services: 193.5; (c) transport: 196.1; (d) all groups: 192.7.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the index number of the weighted average hourly rates of wages in industrial occupations in 11 principal towns at the beginning of 1952 (1939=100).

The index number of hourly wage rates in 23 industrial occupations at the beginning of the year 1952 was 191.6, to base 1939=100.
