asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the rate of travelling allowance has been varied for inspectors of his Department or whether the increase at sub-head B (inspectors 1) of the Estimate for his Department visualises increased travelling; and, if so, the reason for the expected increase.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Travelling Allowances.
The rate of travelling allowance has not been varied for inspectors of my Department. The increase at sub-head B of the Estimate for 1952-53 is due to an increase which has already occurred in inspection work relating to housing grants to private persons and the current Estimate has, in fact, proved inadequate in that regard.
