The Estimate at sub-head I (7) represents payments to be made in respect of outstanding balances of grants allocated from the Transition Development Fund within the period 1st April, 1945, -31st October, 1950. The grants are paid from time to time on the submission by local authorities of claims based on the value of work done in respect of housing schemes in progress at the time of application, and are not related to the number of houses built in any particular year.
