Vol. 132 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Bread Ration.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the fact that the turf season is now at its peak in County Donegal, he is aware of the urgent necessity for an increased ration of bread; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to make such rations available.

Mr. Lynch

Turf workers, in common with other persons who are engaged in heavy manual labour and who find it necessary to take bread meals with them to work, are granted supplementary ration of bread or flour, and I see no necessity to make further arrangements. Rationing will be brought to an end on 4th July, and as from that date onwards bread may be brought without limit as to quantity.
