asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of unemployed registered at each of the employment exchanges in the City and County of Dublin on the first Saturday of February in each of the years 1951, 1952 and 1953.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of persons claiming unemployment insurance benefit at the end of March, 1952, and the expenditure on unemployment insurance benefit for the year ended 31st March, 1952.

The number of persons having claims to unemployment benefit current on the last Saturday in March, 1952, was 28,496 and the expenditure on unemployment benefit in the year ended on the 31st March, 1952, was £965,733.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of persons claiming unemployment assistance at the end of March, 1952, and the expenditure on unemployment assistance in the year ended 31st March, 1952.

The number of persons having applications for unemployment assistance current on the last Saturday in March, 1952, was 39,557 and expenditure on unemployment assistance in the year ended on the 31st March, 1952, was £1,142,038.
