Vol. 139 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Completion of Bog Roads.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate if a further grant is now to be made available to complete the bog road at Greenane, Bere Island.

I am unable to trace any record of a grant having been sanctioned by my office for the construction of a bog road at Greenane, Bere Island. If the Deputy will give more detailed particulars of the location of the proposed work, the matter will have consideration.

asked the Minister for Finance if a grant will be made available to complete a bog road from the main road in Knockroo East to Mr. P. Murphy's house and thus alleviate the position for seven tenants affected.

I assume that the road referred to is one leading from the county road near Denis O'Brien's house east of Ellen Murphy's bog.

A number of grants have been spent on this road, the last one being in 1951/52; and since then no representations have been received to indicate that it requires any further repairs.

In view of the Deputy's inquiry, I shall arrange to get a report on its present condition, and the question of its repair will be considered on its merits in connection with future programmes of schemes.
