The principal insurances with which my Department is concerned— unemployment, health and widows' and orphans' pensions—were amalgamated under the Social Welfare Act, 1952.
The suggestion in the Deputy's question that consideration be given to the amalgamation under Government control of other types of insurances is one which does not fall within the scope of my Department.
