Vol. 153 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Blind Girls.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will take such steps as are necessary to make permanent and pensionable the appointments of blind girls employed in various Government Departments.

It is the intention of the Government that all blind persons employed in the Civil Service will be kept on permanently, subject to the usual conditions as to age and satisfactory service. As regards pensionability, special provision has been made by statute for the grant of pensions to blind persons.
