I am informed by the E.S.B. that there has been no change in the position with regard to the extension of rural electrification to the Camus rural area, which includes Camus and Lettermuckoo, and to the Lettermore rural area, which includes Lettermore, Tiernee and Lettermullen, since my reply of 23rd October, 1957, to a similar question by the Deputy.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Ballyvourney rural area has been considered for selection by the board on a number of occasions but has not so far been selected as the returns for the area did not compare favourably with those for other areas awaiting development in the board's Cork No. 2 District. The area will be reconsidered by the board in due course and the decision of the board will depend on how the returns then compare with those for other areas awaiting development in the Cork No. 2 District.
Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that this is an Irish speaking district and should get special consideration in this regard? I would ask him to look into the matter.
