Vol. 172 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Glenamaddy (Galway) Lands.

33.

asked the Minister for Lands why the Land Commission did not acquire the lands of Donlon, Cloondoyle, Glenamaddy, County Galway; and whether the Land Commission allowed the sale of the lands, and, if so, why, in view of the fact that there are several uneconomic holdings in the townlands adjoining the estate.

Proceedings for the acquisition and resumption of this estate were instituted by the Land Commission since the lands were purchased by the present owner. However, these proceedings terminated last October when after a full public hearing the owner's objection was allowed.

Do I take it that it was decided to drop proceedings?

I have already indicated that an appeal was made. The appeal was allowed by the Land Commission.

The Minister is getting worried.
