asked the Minister for Agriculture the total amount of money which was loaned to the flour millers for the provision of storage and drying facilities from 1939 to date; what was the rate of interest charged; and what percentage of that debt is still outstanding.

The total amount lent to flour millers under the Grain Storage Loans Act, 1951, is £194,000.

The rate of interest charged varies from 4¾ to 5¾ per cent. per annum.

The percentage of the debt still outstanding is 85.
