When the present scheme of rural electrification is completed this year the Electricity Supply Board will have offered supply to premises in 775 out of the 792 rural areas into which the country has been divided for the purposes of the scheme. Persons still without supply in those areas will be quoted terms on application to their local E.S.B. office.
The position of those rural areas which will not have received supply has been under active consideration and I will be in a position to make a statement in the matter within the next three weeks.
