Vol. 202 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cloughran (Dublin) Water Supply.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take up with the Department of Transport and Power the desirability of providing a water supply from Collinstown Airport to the village of The Boot, Cloghran, County Dublin.

The initiation of proposals for the provision of a water supply for The Boot, Cloghran, is a matter for the Dublin County Council. No scheme for this purpose is included in the council's current programme. Dublin Airport is supplied by Dublin Corporation, but I understand that the supply would not be sufficient to meet additional demands.

Did I understand the Minister to say that no scheme was included in the council's programme?

That is right.

Would the Minister be so kind as to give some impetus to this moribund body to do something about providing a much-needed water supply in this area?

I will bring the Deputy's views to their notice.
