Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Tribunal.

76.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that, when the forest bonus scheme was introduced in 1958 the trade unions were informed that a tribunal would be established; and when it is proposed to implement this undertaking.

I would refer the Deputy to my replies to the Deputy's previous inquiry on this matter on 18th June last. Developments in the meantime support the view I then expressed that there is no real need in present circumstances for a Tribunal on the lines originally envisaged. The recent National Wage Agreement for a 12 per cent increase has been implemented in the case of forestry workers.
