asked the Minister for Lands (a) the title and the reference number of the rules and orders made by the Land Commission or the Appeal Tribunal or otherwise under the Land Purchase Acts (i) prior to the establishment of the State in 1922 and (ii) thereafter; (b) which of such rules and orders are still in force; and (c) if he will cause a copy of such rules and orders as are in force to be placed in the Library.

As regards part (a) (i) of the question, I see no purpose in listing rules and orders which were in force before 1922, as it is laid down in the Rules of the Land Commission dated 5th February, 1924—which, effectively, were the first rules made after 1922—that all then existing rules should cease to be in force as regards all proceedings taken after 5th February, 1924, except for such proceedings as were then pending under earlier Acts. On the whole, such cases as were then pending have been wound up.
As to part (a) (ii), particulars, namely, title, date and reference number, of rules, etc., made after 1922 are contained in a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate with the Official Report.
Regarding parts (b) and (c), these post-1922 statutory instruments have been variously amended from time to time. I understand that copies of these instruments are already available in the Library where they may be consulted by the Deputy.
