asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in expansion of Table 21 of the Second Programme for Economic Expansion Progress Report for each of the years 1963-64 and 1964-65 as regards subhead (i) housing, the allocations for (a) loan charge subsidy for local authority dwellings, (b) other capital payments for local authority dwellings (c) grants for private building, and (d) the other remaining grants.

The figure of capital expenditure on housing for 1964-65 included in Table 21 and the corresponding figure for 1963-64 are made up as follows:

The above figures do not include subsidies towards loan charges on local authority dwellings which are treated as a current charge, being subsidies to reduce the burden on local authorities of the annual debt service charges to be met from revenue. The amounts of the subsidies paid by the Exchequer in the two years were as follows:
