asked the Taoiseach the tourist earnings in each of the years 1961 to 1965, inclusive.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tourist Earnings.
3.
The estimated receipts from visitors to the State in each of the years 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964 were £43.5 million, £45.6 million, £49.8 million and £58.8 million, respectively. The corresponding figure for the year 1965 is not yet available.
Is the Taoiseach satisfied that the method employed in determining tourist earnings is reasonably accurate?
I think it is.
Could the Taoiseach describe it in a brief way?
No. Articles have been published in the Statistical Bulletin setting out the method. The figures certainly permit of a comparison between one year and another.
It is made by sample card, is it not?
Is there an estimated figure for 1965?
Not yet.
