Vol. 221 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Depot Gymnasium.

57.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of the gymnasium in the Garda Depot in Templemore, County Tipperary, the estimated and actual cost, when it was opened, and whether defects have appeared therein; if so, their nature, their cause and the steps taken to remedy them; and the number of days on which the gymnasium could not be fully used because of such defects.

The cost of the gymnasium was included in the main contract and separate figures are not available in relation to it. The gymnasium was opened on the occasion of the transfer to Templemore in February, 1964.

Defects have occurred in the maple floor of the gymnasium and these are being put right without expense to the State.

The gymnasium was in regular use until last month and it is expected that it will be ready for use again within a month.
