I am informed that at no time has the secretary to the Commission on Higher Education made a statement such as is alleged in the Deputy's question: the secretary's statement, in reply to a specific question during an interview with a deputation from the Limerick Students University Project Committee on 14 April, 1966, was that the commission's report would be ready in 1966.
I do not propose to make any statement in regard to the representations made for a university college in Limerick until I have had an opportunity of considering the recommendations which the Commission on Higher Education will make within its terms of reference.
