Vol. 227 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Registry and Court Stamps.

6.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state, with reference to a reply of 28th February last, the post offices in Dublin where there is a recognised demand for Land Registry and court fee adhesive stamps and stocks of pre-impressed District and Circuit Court forms; and whether such stamps and forms will be made available at other post offices on request.

Land Registry and court fee adhesive stamps are on sale at the following post offices in Dublin: GPO, St. Andrew Street Branch Office, Dame Street Town Sub-Office, Upper Ormond Quay Town Sub-Office. There has been no demand to justify stocks of these stamps being held at other Dublin Post Offices. For the same reason pre-impressed stamped District and Circuit Court forms are not stocked at Dublin Post Offices.

As indicated at page 13 of Eolaí an Phoist, Vol. I, the stamps and forms in question may be obtained on notice at any post office which does not ordinarily stock them.

7.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the post offices throughout Dublin city and county referred to in a reply of 28th February last where Land Registry stamps may be purchased; the value of such stamps sold in each such office in the past year; and the number of guaranteed cheques accepted therefor.

Land Registry stamps are on sale at the following post offices within Dublin city and county: GPO, St. Andrew Street Branch Office, Dame Street Town Sub-Office, Upper Ormond Quay Town Sub-Office.

The value of the stamps in question sold at these offices in 1966 was approximately as follows: GPO, £56; St. Andrew Street, £180; Dame Street, £90; Upper Ormond Quay, £20,000.

No record is available of the number of guaranteed cheques accepted for such stamps.
