Vol. 227 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Decisions.

38.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware of the long delay in the implementation of decisions in relation to old age pensions; and, if so, if he will take the necessary steps to remedy the position.

Every effort is made to ensure that pension books are issued as soon as possible after the decision of a pensions committee or appeals officer and despite the large number of such decisions, cases of undue delay are few. Where attention is drawn to delay in any individual case, the matter is rectified as quickly as possible.
