Vol. 241 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Programme.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether his statement in reply to Questions 31 and 32 on 9th July that in the event that needs require a level of building about 1975 above the projections in the White Paper on housing in the seventies the projections will not be regarded as limiting the level of building and that so far as the economy can afford it any higher level of building required will be aimed at means that no further review of the housing programme for the years 1970 to 1974 will be carried out.

No—the reference to 1975 was made simply in the context of the projections of housing needs in the White Paper, which are for the mid-1970's. It is the normal practice of my Department to keep the housing situation generally, and the factors affecting it, under continuous review.
