Recruitment procedures for the Civil Service are kept under regular review and are being adapted, as far as possible, to changing circumstances. While every effort continues to be made to fill vacancies, it has to be borne in mind that recruitment to the Civil Service now operates in an environment of increasing demand in the public and private sectors.
