Vol. 241 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Devlin Report.

192.

asked the Minister for Finance when action will be taken in respect of the recommendations set out in the Devlin Report.

193.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a statement on the intentions of the Government concerning the various proposals contained in the Report of Public Services Organisation Review Group 1966-69.

194.

asked the Minister for Finance what action it is proposed to take on the recommendations in the Report of Public Services Organisation Review Group 1966-69.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose taking Questions Nos. 192, 193 and 194 together. As announced on the publication of the report, the recommendations, many of which have far-reaching implications, are being examined in the Departments concerned and the Government's decisions will be announced in due course.

Since the report envisages that even an unqualified acceptance of all its recommendations would take some six years to implement, Deputies will appreciate that it is not possible at this early stage to indicate the Government's decisions nor to specify a timetable for action on the recommendations.
