asked the Minister for Education the details and likely dates of implementation of plans for the provision of additional accommodation for boy and girl secondary school students in the Rathmines, Rathgar, Terenure, Harold's Cross, Templeogue, Tallaght, Crumlin, Walkinstown and Clondalkin areas of Dublin.

As there is a considerable number of projects involved I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Chomhairle, to circulate with the Official Report a statement setting out the information requested by the Deputy.

The statement includes particulars of post primary school developments generally in the areas referred to.

Following is the statement:

POST PRIMARY School Building Programme in the Rathmines, Rathgar, Terenure, Harold's Cross, Templeogue, Tallaght, Crumlin, Walkinstown and Clondalkin areas of Dublin.

Rathmines:St. Louis Convent:An extension of 6 classrooms is expected to be completed very shortly. This will complete a major extension of the school accommodation.College of Commerce:An extension comprising 26 classrooms and ancillary accommodation is at an advanced stage of planning.Tallaght:Three new post primary schools for 2,400 pupils are being planned.Walkinstown:Assumption Secondary School:An extension to cater for 100 pupils is being built.St. Paul's Secondary School, Greenhills:A new school for 400 girls was erected in 1968.Vocational School, Walkinstown:Work on a new Vocational School to cater for 720 boys has commenced.Clondalkin:Presentation Convent:Stage I of a new school for 350 girls has been completed.Moyle Park College, Clondalkin:A major extension to this school to cater for future enrolments in the area has been approved. Two rooms have already been erected and a further 7 rooms are in course of erection. Three prefabricated classrooms were also provided in 1967.Vocational School, Clondalkin:A five-room extension to the Vocational School is at an advanced stage of planning.Crumlin:Meánscoil Choilm, C.B.S.:A new school has been erected.St. Agnes School, Crumlin:A new school for 500 girls is nearing completion.Loreto Convent, Crumlin:The plans for an extension of 12 classrooms and a library have been approved. School architect is proceeding with working drawings.Marist Convent, Sundrive Road:Plans for a new school building for 350 girls have been approved. The school will be built in stages—Stage I to begin immediately.Vocational School, Crumlin:A 3 classroom prefabricated unit has been sanctioned for Crumlin Road (Girls) Vocational School, to cater for anticipated increased enrolments in September, 1970. Terenure:Presentation Convent:The provision of a new school to cater for a future enrolment of 500 girls has been approved. Revised plans are being prepared by the schools architect. It is expected that building will commence early next year. In the meantime mobile classroom units are being provided to meet requirements for September next.Harold's Cross:Marymount Secondary School, Harold's Cross:The provision of a new school for 350 girls has been approved. Sketch plans for the building are awaited from the schools architect.Templeogue:Templeogue College:A new school for approximately 550 boys has been erected.

NOTE: Should additional accommodation needs arise in any of these areas mobile classroom units will be provided in receipt of an application therefor from the school authorities.
