Preliminary proposals for these schemes were approved in principle last February. My Department are now awaiting necessary technical information regarding the plans, specification and estimate of cost which were submitted last month. When this information is received, a decision will be given without delay.

A proposal to accept a negotiated tender for this scheme, based on 1966 prices, was received in my Department on the 7th instant. The council have been asked to get and submit a quotation based on current costs. When this is received I will give a decision without delay.
