The plan for installing the necessary equipment, which is being prepared by the Office of Public Works, is expected to be available in about a week's time and I am informed by the Ceann Comhairle that it will be placed before the Committee on Procedure and Privileges for approval at its next meeting. If approval to proceed with the work is given by the end of June, it is expected that the installation will be completed by the time the Dáil resumes after the summer recess.
The Ceann Comhairle has been authorised to employ additional translators to staff the service, when installed.
