Vol. 277 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Worrying of Sheep.

57.

asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the damage done to sheep flocks by dogs, particularly in south Roscommon; and if he proposes to take further steps to have the law enforced.

The Garda say that six cases of attacks on sheep by dogs in Roscommon were reported to them during 1974. There was a prosecution in one case and in two cases the owners of the dogs compensated the injured parties. The dogs were not located in the remaining three cases.

The Garda say that every effort is being made to deal with the problem of attacks on sheep by dogs.
