Vol. 301 No. 6

Written Answers. - National Gallery Attendants.

545.

asked the Minister for Education if a difference exists between the policy of the Government in relation to the retirement age of attendants in the National Gallery of Ireland and other sectors of the public service; if men in other Departments of the public service are allowed to remain on for periods after the age of 65; and, if so, the circumstances in which this happens.

The conditions for the retention of persons beyond the age of 65 years apply generally throughout the public service but it is a matter for the appropriate authorities to apply these conditions.
